Mixed Dipterocarp forest, clay soil; associates include:
Shorea, Knema, Lithocarpus, Artocarpus.
Growing in disturbed primary forest, open area.
Morphology:
Tree 10 m tall, 25 cm dbh. Outer bark light brown, covered
by lenticels, rugose. Inner bark pale yellowish-brown. Twigs
orange. Leaves fleshy, coriaceous, light green beneath. Nut
orange, cupule light brown.
