GUYANA. Cuyuni-Mazaruni. Along the banks of Cara Creek and small
islands in creek, beginning at 5°32'50.3"N, 60°53'47.9"W and 506 m
elevation (south of Camp 4); tributary of Kako River, near border with
Venezuela. 543 m 5°32'43"N 60°54'9.8"W. Islands formed from gravel
bars, prone to scouring, rich in herbs and shrubs. Rock substrate of pink
sandstone and red chert. Emergent herb. Leaf bases beige. Glumes brown.
Sympatric with KMR 6892 on gravel bars along river. Silica sample.
