249. Fritillaria liliacea Lindl.
Oakland Hills, Alameda County, at an altitude of 100 m.
On grassy ridges overlooking Lake Chabot, in clayey stony soil;
plants somewhat scattered.
Flowers white, the segments green at base and with a more or
less distinct green medial line. Many of the plants are staminate
the pistils much reduced or nearly wanting; staminate and perfect
flowers growing promiscuously over the slopes.
Collected by Miss H. A. Walker (no. 2909); March 15 (flowers)
and April 23 (capsules), 1913.
