Disturbed lowland tropical evergreen forest, on nearly level
land, now much disturbed and cleared for pastures.
Treelet up to 2 m tall. Inflorescence axis winged, pink.
Inmature fruits redish-green, turning black. Domatia
inhabited by ants.
