PLANTS OF THE GUIANAS Melastomataceae Tococa aristata Benth. Det. F.A. Michelangeli, X 2007 GUYANA. Headed N of airstrip into gallery forest at head of Kourme Creek. 448 m 5°10'50"N 59°24'29.7"W. Savannah near airstrip; wet areas, white sand, rocks, some shallow soil. Shrub to 2 m. Underside of leaves deep purple; bearing domatia. Petals yellow-green. Anthers white, tinged with rose.
