Sandstone rock houses along steep SW-facing slopes with mixed hardwood (Acer sacharum, Asimina, Celtis, Betula lenta, Fagus, Ilex opaca, Liriodendron, Magnolia macrophylla, Quercus prinus, Symplocos,Tilia)- conifers (Pinus taeda, Tsuga canadensis). saxicolous on sandstone and corticolous on base of Betula lenta.
