BUTTE CO: Northern portion of the site, southeast-
ern most end of the Lemhi Range, small butte on s
side of HW 33, ca 11 mi NE of Howe. T6N R30E s35
n 1/2 of sw 1/4. Elev. 4950', slope 75%, aspect E,
soil deep sand.
Community: Tetradymia canescens, Oryzopsis hymen-
oided, Stipa comata with Atriplex spinosa and Chry-
sothamnus viscidiflorus.
Associates: Astragalus ceramicus var. apus (Fed.
Rev. List - Cat.l), Eriogonum ovalifolium, and Lu-
pinus pusillus.
Plants rare; petals white on adaxial surface, laven
der on abaxial with median green stripe; nectary
gland longer than broad, with fringed membrane.
