Vista on highway to Portachuelo, near turnoff to San
Javier. Grazed flat savanna with shallow ponds,
Acrocomia totai, Scheelea princeps, Melastomes.
17°24'S, 63°34'W. alt. 300 m.
Shrub, branched, 2 m. tall. Flowers very showy;
petals bright rose-purple. Voucher for wood
specimen, MADw 46807.
