Along the rock road to Lago del Volcán SW of Volcán Barú and due SW of El Hato del Volcán. Shrubs 1-1.5 m tall growing in or near inundated pasture margins. Petals magenta, with a small white horizontal band at the very base. Filaments, connective, and style pale magenta and declined to one side of the flower.
