Primary forest on steeply hilly terrain, parts of non-inundated areas reportedly regenerating from arborescent bamboo die-back two years ago. Rare.

Tree. Treelet 3.5 m, fruits pendent, globose, 2.5 cm diam. On slope in shaded understory. USE: Fruit pulp used to make a sweet fruit juice. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
