Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. The georeferenced coordinates represent the most probable location of collection with consideration to the elevation noted on label. Georeferenced to the mountainous region nearest to the approximate geographic center of the city of Rurrenabaque at the specified elevation of 1000 ft (approx. 305 m) in Beni Department, Bolivia. Used the Google Maps - Terrain and Earth Views to find the mountainous region of Rurrenabaque at the specified elevation. Used the Google Maps - What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the mountain at approximately 305 m (using Terrain View to locate). Used the Google Maps - Measure Distance Tool to find the approximate linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the 305 m elevation range of the mountainous region. Input coordinates, linear extent (15050.0 m), and measurement error (10 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Defined Area).
