Sharp's Store; climbing over roadside shrubs and
small trees; 36°22' N, 80°07' W.
Climbing to 2..5 m; corolla pale pink.

20749. Calystegia sepium subsp. appalachiana
Brummitt. Quite typical of this subspecies except
for the corolla being only pale pink instead of deep
pink as I would have expected (cf. also my 20740
from Va near Mustoe etc. collected earlier the sam
eday). The wisely spreading strongly angled leaf
lobes are typical of this subspecies (but also of subsp.
angulata).
