drainage slope. Herrin, IL 7.5 min. quadrangle. Farm
pond, silt and sand, mudflats.
Margin of pond at west side of soybean field, with
Lycopus rubellus, L. americanus, Polygonum
hydropiperoides, P. punctatum. Petals rose-pink,
stamens yellow; flowers in vertical plane; locally
common rhizomatous perennial up to 0.5 meter tall
forming colonies.
