On dry hillside. Growing with Arbutus and Quercus and Pinus montezumae, Pinus pseudostrobus, and Pinus oaxacana.

Description
Slender tree ca. 24 m. tall, crown light and open (atypical); cones atypical. Pinus montezumae, Pinus pseudostrobus and Pinus oaxacana all have 'intermediate forms.'. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
