You may recall that two or three years ago you sent
me a Pteris collected by you in the Everglades at a point
8 miles southwest of Royal Palm Hammock April 28 f 1922, and
I identified it as £* longifolia L. The identification is
erroneous, the plant “being instead £• vittata. an East
Indian species of close alliance.which is common in culti-
vation and has become well established in many parts of
tropical America where it now grows spontaneously.
