Perennials from long-creeping rhizomes; stem scales brown, concolorous to slightly bicolorous, loosely appressed, deciduous on older portions of rhizome; rachises rounded adaxially; scales on abaxial surfaces lanceolate- ovate, eciliate but often denticulate or erose; upper surfaces of ultimate segments glabrous; sporangia 64-spored; spores + 48 ¿¿.
