    Dwarf shrub to scrambler, 50-70 cm high with thin, creeping stems. Young stems square in xs with longitudinal ridges at corners, compressed. Roots yellow, with crimson new growth below the ground. Petiole 0-1 mm long. Simple leaves, alternate, blue-green.

Dwarf shrub to scrambler, 50-70 cm high with thin, creeping stems. Young stems
square in xs with longitudinal ridges at comers, compressed. Roots yellow with
crimson new growth below the ground. Petiole 0-1 mm long. Simple leaves, alternate,
blue-green above, yellow-green below, 6-10x4.5-6.5 mm, margins wavy and dentate.
New leaves and stems red. Flowers creamy-white, minute, on long pedicels of 10-15
mm long. Fruit spherical, 8-10 mm, red in colour when unripe, black when ripe.
