Habitat
Western face of sandstone serra with horizontally bedded rocks. Extensive grassland & marsh on lower slopes and small streams with low woodland. Rock outcrops at high altitudes, with humid forest in rocky declivity below summit.

Description
Erect to ascending fleshy herb to 30 cm. Stems bluish grey beneath with swollen pale green nodes, pink tinged above. Leaves fleshy, glossy bright green above, very pale beneath. Spikes pale yellow green. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
