Habitat
Growing in a little swale at edge of forest, insuny position. A rather rare but notable tree here.

Description
Base 80 inches; main trunk dead and broken off, two side trunks persisting, each 8 in. dia. Tree 30 ft. high, expanse 30 ft; bud cluster yellowish; open flower dull yellow-brown. Very peculiar wood layers. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
