dense sat about 20 c> tall anchored in cracks of red
igneous rock; nearly total shade; elevation 8800 ft.
Associated flora: Quercus gaabelii, Douglas fir, Pinus
spp., Lactuca ludoviciana, Heuchera rubescens and
parvifolia, Potentilla pennsylvanica
