    Soil texture popcorn-like and cracked/fissured from drought. Chinle boils with sparse cover dominated by Eriogonum sureniforme, Vigueira longifolia var. annua, Helianthus annuus, & Lactuca serriola. Very common on bare parts of Chinle.

    Fruits covered with blunt spines or lobes. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
