of soil; elev. 5000 ft.; infrequent in small
patches; elev. 5000 ft.
To 1 m. tall,, dense, many—stems,
forming a spinescent shrub about 1 m
broad; with a pronounced "maple-sugar"
odor. Note petals pointed, notched, or
even irregularly "erose-crenate."
