Upper San Pedro River floodplain, ~3 miles north of Hwy 82 along
Ironhorse Ranch dirt Rd., N 31° 44.599' , W 110° 13.037' 3900 ft.,
Habitat: mesquite woodland.
Associated spp: Prosopis velutina, Acacia greggii, Ziziphus
obtusifolia, Viguiera dentata, Atriplex canescens, Larrea tridentata,
Flourensia cernua, Rhus microphylla, Panicum obtusum.
Notes: Perennial herb 1.5 m, flowers purple opening at night, visited
by large hawk moths which continued to nectar even when specimens
were about to be pressed
