Southern Santa Ana Mountains, San Mateo Canyon Wilderness
Area. South side of Miller Mountain along "Miller Canyon", the
major drainage on the southern flank of the mountain, from Road
8S02 upstream to the area of contact between lower granitic and
higher basaltic rocks, T8S R5W Nl/2 NW1/4 sec. 15; El/2 SE1/4
sec. 10. Elev. 2100'- 2300'. Mosdy Adenostoma fasciculatum -
Ceanothus crassifolius chaparral and small stands of Quercus
agrifolia, with Baccharis salicifolia, Platanus racemosa, Salix
lasiolepis as common riparian elements.
Annual, flowers white. Locally common, mesic openings in
chaparral along stream.
