Diodia teres Walter
Wayne County: T67N R21W Section 1 NE4 NW4 NW4 NE4
UTM (NAD83, 15T): 481353 East, 4498509 North
A disturbed, approximately 4 acre mesic prairie (possibly in crops in the past),
eroded in places, is about 5 miles southwest of Seymour. The collection site is
mapped as Lamoni soils, 9 to 14 percent slopes, severely eroded (LmD3).
Lamoni soils are Aquic Argiudolls. The plow layer is usually a clay or clay
loam. The prairie is just south of a road called Edison and on the Southern
Iowa Drift Plain.
Diodia teres is infrequent on a gentle, west/northwest-facing slope in the
prairie. The corollas are light lavender. Diodia teres is associated with
Ambrosia artemisiifolia. Antennaria neqlecta. Chamaecrista fasciculata.
Juniperus virainiana. Parthenium intearifolium. Potentilla simplex. Rudbeckia
hirta. Solidaao canadensis. Sorahastrum nutans and Spiranthes lacera.
