The collection site is mapped as Lamoni soils, 9 to 14 percent slopes, severely eroded (LmD3). Lamoni soils are Aquic Argiudolls. The plow layer is usually a clay or clay loam. The prairie is just south of a road called Edison and on the Southern Iowa Drift Plain. Diodia teres is infrequent on a gentle, west/northwest-facing slope in the prairie. The corollas are light lavender. Diodia teres is associated with Ambrosia artemisiifolia. Antennaria neqlecta. Chamaecrista fasciculata. Juniperus virainiana. Parthenium intearifolium.
