Flat topography, about one third covered with
coarse coastal grasses, one third timber. Drained by
Brazos, San Bernard Rivers, which traverse county.
Loams and coastal clays to uplands, alluvials in low-
lands. One third in timber—pin oak, live oak. mul-
berry. hackberry. ash. elm. cottonwood, pecan; bridge
timbers made from oak, some hardwood exported.
