Brazil. Bahia. Morro do Chapéu Mun. Morro do Chapeu. Rio do Ferro Doido, 19.5 km. SE of Morro do Chapeu on the BA 052 highway to Mundo Novo.

Habitat
With water-worn, horizontally bedded sandstone at surface, with damp sand, sedge marsh, exposed rocks & waterfall. Vegetation open scrub to closed low woodland in drier areas. This planta growing by rocks & sandy areas by river.

Description
Shrub to 4 m. with erect spindly stems, but often less (1 m.) with leaves coriaceous to slightly fleshy, bright green above, pale green beneath, aromatic. Bracts spreading, pale green with pinkish tinge. Flowers pink in bud, with pale lilac, almost white limb & darker pinkish purple tube, throat yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
