Big Piney.
NE-facing slope of Artemisia tridentata/Poa secunda
grassland on gray shaley-clay fine soil with surface
of white chalky sandstone gravel. Also occurs with
scattered cushion plant/Elymus lanceolatus comm-
unities.
Herbage glandular, leaves narrower and less
thickened on margins than typical “pungens”.
