Habitat
Moist S-slopes below ridge WNW of peak. Open slopes at base of cliffs or on steep areas between cliffs. Short moist fynbos burnt in 1994. Local.

Description
erect shrubs, 0.5-0.7 m high. Robust, erect shrubs, 500-700 mm high, with very prominent, congested spiklike synflorescences. Flowers flaming red against the sky, dull red in other light; mostly past their prime. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
