Liebre Mountains. Ruby Canyon, east of junction of Forest
Service Road 6N24 with Lake Hughes Road. Following easterly
course of flowing stream. Lat. 34°36’00” N, long. 118°33’32”
W; T6N R16W; elev. 2000 ft.
Growing on benches of broad, shallow pool at outlet of concrete
check dam (water pouring down ca. 4 ft. from break in dam), in
partial shade of sheer cliff face.
Many plants of Baccharis salicifolia infested with some sort of
viral infection in this immediate area.
Rosette (from different plant) ca. 0.4 m across. Flowers bright
yellow, open at time of collection (noon).
