W of Illinois River levee, N of Big Lake, ca. 4.5 mi E of
Cooperstown. Alluvial level clay-silt (mud) river bank a
excavated ditch S side of levee.
Burned, excavated floodplain forest (Acer negundo, A.
saccharinum, Ulmus, Celtis). Occasional erect herb 1.5
m tall, purple on inside of upper nodes.
