T18N R120W S29 SW4SW4, S30 SE4, S31 N2 ofNE4, & S32 NW4NW4 Overthrust Belt: south slopes of Hanks Hill at north end of Woodruff Narrows Reservoir, ca 1 mile east of the WY-UT state line, ca 10 air miles north of Evanston. South-facing slopes of brownish shale-clay with surface layer of brownish sandstone rocks and gravel in Artemisia tridentata-Elymus spicatus community with scattered Juniperus osteosperma. Common on semi-bare slopes. Most plants past flowering. Population estimated at 50,000-70,000. Corollas white, becoming tinged with lavender with age (especially on the tube). Limb typically 15-17 mm wide. Leaves widest at base, taper to sharp tip & have long hairs on margins. Calyx with long-spreading hairs and eglandular. Very fragrant. 22 May 1996 Elev. 6500-6760 ft.
