GPS readings). Elevation 3350-3750 m.
Subalpine spruce-fir-limber pine forest and alpine zone above
timberline. Mesic, rocky-granitic soil. Mostly S- and W-facirig
slopes.
Locally common along trail on barren, rocky soil at middle to upper
elevations. [Large population observed at 40°06'02.3"N,
105°35,35.5"W. Elevation ca 3592 m.]
