Ada Hayden Herbarium Iowa State University Flora of Iowa Ludwiaia peploides (HBK.) Raven Louisa County: T76N R5W Section 14 SE4 SW4 NE4 SW4 Cone Marsh Wildlife Management Area is approximately 2.7 miles west of Conesville. Ludwiaia peploides is locally common on the east side of Long Lake, an artificially raised marsh. This site is on the Mississippi Alluvial Plain. The genets are rooted in moist to saturated soil. The stems, some 2+ meters in length, are trailing and rooting at the nodes. The petals are yellow with light orange at the base and fall off easily when touched. The collection comes from the southeast corner of Long Lake and north of a dam. Ludwiaia peploides is associated with Leersia orvzoides. Mark J. Leoschke 1860 August 1,1998 03345051
