Davis County: Prairie Township T68N R12W Section 15 NW4 NE4 NW4 SW4
UTM (15T, NAD27): 564893 East, 4504385 North
A 1 + acre, rectangular artificial pond is located about 40 meters north of State
Highway 2 and about 2.3 miles east/southeast of Pulaski. The pond is on the
Southern Iowa Drift Plain.
Ludwiaia peploides. with flowers and green fruits, is abundant on the edge of
the pond. Flowers have 5 yellow petals and are on top of the ramets. Fruits
are more common than flowers, but many ramets have at least one flower.
Erect ramets with flowers and fruits appear to be rooted in mud. Horizontal,
vegetative ramets with floating leaves are found in shallow water.
