Ada Hayden Herbarium Iowa State University Flora of Iowa Ludwiaia peploides (HBK.) Raven Van Buren County: T68N R1OW Section 8 NW4 SW4 NW4 SW4 UTM (15T, NAD27): 580755 East, 4505794 North Lake Sugema Fish and Wildlife Management Area is approximately 4 miles southwest of Keosauqua. A west side channel of this artificial lake occurs under a bridge on Heather Avenue. It is on the Southern Iowa Drift Plain. Ludwiaia peploides occurs as large emergent patches in the channel on both sides of the bridge. It is much more common on the east side of the bridge. Floating leaves are found on the side of the patches facing towards the middle of the channel. Flowers appear to have 5 yellow petals. Ludwiaia peploides is associated with Leersia orvzoides.
