RANCHO SANTA ANA BOTANIC GARDEN Flora of the San Gabriel Mountains Los Angeles County, California, U.S.A. Chenopodiaceae Atriplex canescens (Pursh) Nuttall SE edge of VALYERMO: along NE side of Valyenno Rd from ca 3730-3750, then S of the road from ca 3750- 3770 feet elevation. Valyermo USGS 1.5' quad; T4N R9W, mostly NE/4 NE/4 SW/4 SW/4, and W/2 NW/4 SE/4 SW/4 sect 8. Partially disturbed Joshua Tree Woodland, with Yucca brevifolia, Juniperus californica, Purshia glandulosa, Chrysothamnus nauseosus, Salvia dorrii, Eriodictyon trichocalyx, Ephedra nevadensis, Stipa speciosa, Eriogonumfasciculatum, etc. Shrub to ca 16 dm tall, scattered locally on alluvial soils.
