Scrophulariaceae Veronica arvensis L.
det. M. Nee, 2012
ILLINOIS, Tazewell Co., Creve Couer Park, Creve Couer.
In lawn of Creve Couer Park campground.
40°38’40”N, 89°36’30”W. alt. 200 m.
Same species as no. 59089, but at first taken to be a
different species, as habit is very different. Abundant in
unshaded lawn, the stems stiffly erect, none over 10 cm.
tall, mostly much shorter. The two Veronica species (no.
59094, V polita) had flowers open in afternoon when
sunny, a similar blue with white center, but very different in
size. The larger one visited by small fly or bee; also open on
May 3, a sunny morning.
