Ada Hayden Herbarium Iowa State University Flora of Iowa Gaura parviflora Douglas Guthrie County: T79N R30W Section 27 NE4 SW4 NW4 SW4 UTM (15T, NAD27): 388695 East, 4608287 North A roadside prairie planting northeast of County Road P28 is approximately 7.5 miles north of Stuart and on the Southern Iowa Drift Plain. Gaura parviflora is infrequent on a southwest-facing, moderate slope above a ditch next to the road. It was probably accidently introduced with the prairie planting. There is a lot of bare soil between individual Gaura parviflora genets and they have 1 to 5 ramets. The genets are in bud, bloom or have fruits. The corollas are white. Gaura parviflora is associated with Bouteloua curtioendula. Chamaecrista fasciculata. Elvmus canadensis. Phleum pratense and Schizachvrium scoparium. Mark J. Leoschke 2348 September 1,2002 03318757
