No. 7897, collected May 30, tinder shrubs on the banks of
a stream about three tniles northeast of Redding, Shasta county.
The fresh flowefs are lavender, with bright yellow throat and
anthers. It, is quite distinct ¡from the inconspicuous flowered
L. pu stilus. The type c^me from “pascuis siccis vallis Sacra-
mento, probably from near X^hico.
