Mason Southern Santa Ana Mountains, San Mateo Canyon Wilderness Area. Along San Mateo Creek from Riverside County line, following San Mateo Trail upstream to the confluence with Bluewater Canyon. T7S R5W secs. 29,31,32. Elev. 800' to 1000'. Surrounding slopes burned in 1989 fire. Riparian area with woodland of Platanus, Quercus agrifolia, Salix lasiolepis, S. gooddingii and Fraxinus velutina.
