bank/terrace of the Rock River along the east side of
Illinois Route 2, opposite an iron-gated stone entrance
and pull-off, 0.8 kilometer north of the southern (main)
entrance to the Stronghold and Blackhawk Presbytery
and camp. Elevation about 679-692 feet. Alluvial soils.
Mesic upland forest in transition to mesic floodplain
forest. Occasional perennial 1.5-2 meters tall, flowers
dark brown inside, green outside.
