Along the banks of Cara Creek and small islands in creek, beginning at 5°32'50.3"N, 60°53'47.9"W and 506 m elevation (south of Camp 4); tributary of Kako River, near border with Venezuela. 543 m. 5°32'43"N 60°54'9.8"W. Islands formed from gravel bars, prone to scouring, rich in herbs and shrubs. Rock substrate of pink sandstone and red chert. Tree, 8m. Leaves glossy green above, brown trichomes beneath.
