Along the road from Maracay to Choroni, 9 km below top on north side of pass. Cloud forest along roadside. Alt. 850-860 m. Shrub, 2 m tall. Leaves coriaceous, whitish below. Petiole and undersides of midrib pale reddish brown. Bracts surrounding flower pink, caducous. Calyx pale green; corolla pink with white edges; stamens orange turning bright red after anthesis; stigma pink, style whitish-yellow turning pink after anthesis. Anna L. Weitzman and Brian M.
