NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN Monographic Studies of Mimulus (Scrophulariaceae) Mimulus nanus Hooker & Arnott var. nanus MONTANA: Ravalli Co. Bitterroot National Forest. Sheephead Creek Trail, ca. 100 yds. beyond North Fork crossing, and also ca. 50 yds. beyond this; T1S, R23W, SV/£ SE^ S7, elev. 5400 ft (1650 m). Very common locally on decomposing granite of hillside above trail. Several hundred of plants. Corolla magenta with 3 dark purple lines radiating from the throat to the midveins of the lower 3 lobe bases; the 2 throat floor ridges usually at least partially yellow, with scattered dark purple dots.
