RANCHO SANTA ANA BOTANIC GARDEN Flora of Los Angeles County, California, USA ONAGRACEAE Epilobium canum (E. L. Greene) Raven ssp. canum Liebre Mountains region, Bouquet Canyon ca. 1,7 miles south of junction with Forest Service Road 6N08. Near 34° 30’ 54”N 118° 26’ 57” W. T5N R15W SW 1/4 NW 1/4 sec. 15. Elev. ca. 1840 ft. Narrow riparian corridor in canyon bottom with disturbed areas along road. Surrounding slopes steep and rocky, mostly metasedimentary substrate. Canyon bottom with Platanus racemosa, Populus fremontii, Salix lasiolepis, Toxicodendron diversilobum, and Rubus ursinus. Slopes with scrub of Adenostoma fasciculatum, Eriogonum fasciculatum, Brickellia nevinii, and Cercocarpus betuloides. Weak shrub, lower stems quite woody, flowers red, leaves very narrow, gray-pubescent. Occasional on xeric, rocky slopes. Steve Boyd 8993 Lauren Raz 8 Oct 1996 03287596
