Gilia cana ssp. speciformis A.& V. Grant
Very abundant, colorful display. Corolla tube
purple, throat bright yellow at base, violet
above and in orifice; lobes bright pinkish-
violet. Pollen dark blue. Somewhat mephitic,
not fragrant.
Gravelly basalt soil on low hills, n.e. side of
ridge [at summit/, 13 miles n. of Barstow on Fort
Irwin Roacj^ Elevation 3100 feet.
