Description
Pileus 2.5- 10.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, viscid in wet weather otherwise dry, tomentose to matted subtomentose, whitish when covered, otherwise, pale grayish brown to yellowish brown (amber yellow: 4B5) to dingy yellow. Flesh yellow with mild odor and slightly unpleasant taste. Tubes adnexed, yellow at first to olive brown (4D8), unchanging, with pores likewise. Stipe 4-10 cm long, 1-2 cm broad, equal to gradually broader below, dry, coarsely reticulate, bright yellow to brownish yellow, staining brown with handling, with interior yellow, unchanging, orangish yellow at base with yellow basal mycelium.
