Herbarium of the University of North Carolina FLORIDA Jackson County Macranthera flammea (Bartram) Pennell [M. fuchsioides (Nutt.) Benth.] East side of hwy 75, 4.4 miles north of Calhoun Co. line. Plant 2 M. high. Population of 30-40 indivi- duals at margin of Nyssa sylvatica var. biflora Clethra alnifolia thicket with Rubus cunefolius Baccharis halimifolia, one young Pinus taeda, Eriocaulon decangulare, Lycopodium alopecur- oides, Rhexia sp., Rhynchospora sp., Panicum sp etc. Parasitic on Rubus cuneifolius (Musselman 4396) with few haustoria and on Nyssa sylvatica var. biflora (Musselman 4395) with abundant and vigorous haustoria.
