River bottom woods with Acer negundo and Celtis
occidentalis on E. bank of Turnbull Creek, just
S. of Tenn. 96 bridge. 2 miles NW of jet. of
1-40 and Tenn. 96.
Robust perennial from woody caudex. Stems
2.0 m. tall. Flowers bright yellow; caudacous,
lasting only one day. Large (up to 1.0 cm.)
haustoria on two different woody dicot roots.
